Managing blood pressure: when to take readings

Checking your blood pressure at home is a good idea if you are on therapy. Take readings twice daily - morning before medication and evening after dinner. Rest 5 minutes first, sit upright, and place the cuff on a bare arm at heart level. Record both numbers with the date and time. Bring your log to every follow-up visit. Never stop medication without your doctor's guidance.
